I have an older friend, he is 78 years old and is healthy as a horse, takes no prescription drugs (or any other kind), and never goes to the doctor (maybe that's why he's so healthy).
Anyway, he's registered for Medicare coverage, and recently he fell and broke a couple of ribs and I took him to the local ER. They took X-rays gave him some pain pills and told him to follow-up with his primary care doctor.
Trouble is, he doesn't have a primary care doctor; he's never needed one.
So we started calling around (this is central Texas). Guess what, nada, none would take him as a new patient because he's on Medicare. We called all the Family Practice and Internal Medicine doctors in a 25 mile radius. Here's why.
Thank you so much Obama and Congressional Democrats. I hope you can live with yourselves as your older relatives start suffering.
