You may find that when silica gel is sold for that purpose it can get expensive in those little packets, so here's an alternative.
Here's the wikipedia description of silica gel:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silica_gel
Scroll down to where it talks about silica gel for cat litter.

8 pounds of pure silica gel for $17.99. Sure it's not in nice little packets, but what the hay, it's pure silica gel!
Buy a couple yards of unbleached cotton cloth at Walmart, cut pieces to size and bundle up some of the silica gel with tie wraps or twine and wallah!

Don't breath the dust from this stuff, and don't let kids or pets eat any of it.
If it gets moisture laden, put it in the oven for 2 hours at 120 degrees F and it will re-generate.
