Is it Really There?

Fort Worth Star-Telegram:  "Call it the Rick Perry gold rush: The governor wants to bring the state's gold reserves back from a New York vault to Texas.

And he may have legislative support to do it. Freshman Rep. Giovanni Capriglione, R-Southlake, is carrying a bill that would establish the Texas Bullion Depository, a secure state-based bank to house $1 billion worth of gold bars owned by the University of Texas Investment Management Co., or UTIMCO, and stored by the Federal Reserve."

I seriously doubt there is any gold in the Fort Knox Depository.  I've been in side the depository twice on business and they would not let see any of the gold and have refused requests from Representative Rob Paul and others to see it also.

If fact, I suspect there is far less physical gold in the world's back vaults than they claim.  The only was Texas can be sure it still owns any gold is if Governor Perry takes physical position.
