In Dry Dock

Sorry I've been gone so long.  I took a broadside amidships.

Had to have a 4-way bypass and then what's called non-union of the sternum (it won't grow back together).

Added to that I've developed some sort of auto-immune disorder which is attacking my eyes (took a while to type this as I can barely see the keyboard).

Hope you all  are faring well and I'll report back for duty when I can.

  1. I hope you get well, I have missed your articles.

  2. Please get well shipmate. I'll pray for you now that I'm aware that this happened to you.

  3. Please get well shipmate. I'll pray for you now that I'm aware that this happened to you.

  4. Fair winds and following seas, Chief. Hope you're underway at full steaming soon.

  5. Sorry to hear of your troubles. Get well soon. I have missed your thought on things.

  6. I wondered Chief, I've grown used to you but I confess I thought it must be something that took you offline since I didn't expect you to leave without a Parthian shot or a full broadside.

I've been checking up on you since you fell below the line on some the blogs I know went dark. I have had a candle here in the window for you since I didn't know.

My doc tells me I have a paralyzed diaphragm and not to worry because he can stitch it all back together. That was about 8 months ago. I told him I'd think about the suggested surgery and get back to him about 6 months....oops, I was Kayaking in Maine at the time and didn't have time to call him.

I took one of the Soldier's Angels to dinner long ago with Lex and Mrs. Lex and Chaplain Harvey et al and if you think you could benefit from the kind of software that they lined up for our disabled vets coming back from the two most recent wars, let me know and I'll follow up with her and see what exactly it was/is. I gave a lot of money to buy it for others but I just didn't look too deep into the details. I know it was voice actuated writing and it might even have included a reading aloud app.

I don't care, I'll do it anyway and get back to you.

My very best wishes and prayers.

  7. Thank you so much for the offer, but my eyesight is not quite that bad (but too difficult to try and maintain a blog or regular correspondence) and is slowly getting better with injections and laser treatment.

  8. Haven't given up on ya. Still it would be nice to hear from you. regards, Curtis
