Colorado's Flypaper Laws and the Consequences

The term fly paper laws refer to laws which entrap otherwise law-abiding citizens into becoming criminals.

A good example is cited on The Michael Bane Blog about the Nathan Haddad case where  Mr. Haddad is facing 35 years, in prison in New York for possessing five AR-15 magazines left over from his military service.

Colorado's new gun control laws are just such laws where a person could wind up a criminal simply for loaning a weapon.

Consequently, Colorado faces an exodus of companies, loss of hunting revenues, and cancelled events.
